A recent visit up North took me the foot of Antony Gormley's magnificent Angel of the North. The steel structure which stands at 20 metres tall and 54 metres wide is a fitting testament to the industrial heritage of the area and in my humble opinion worth every penny of the reported £1 million it cost to create and construct.
Whilst kicking around Gateshead I took the opportunity to visit the home of one of my arts branding crushes - The BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art . Another awe-inspiring industrial structure (former flour mill) sat on the south bank of the River Tyne, a beautiful building both inside and out, punctuated by a strong typographical brand as contemporary as the art is houses and as timeless and the building itself. Oh, and Antony Gormley is a patron of the Gallery which completes the circle. Check it out.
